“Why can’t you pair Beethoven with Björk?”

SCVYO’s Novae Sinfonia is aimed at exposing students to the full spectrum of the 21st century musical landscape. Conceived and directed by award-winning violinist and conductor, Rachel Iba, repertoire includes music of living composers, non-western repertoire, as well as standards of the Western orchestral canon. The group frequently collaborates with local artists, composers and dancers to produce dynamic, engaging concerts that are fun for the whole family!
